VOTE & PRAY - The US Presidential Elections

With less than 10 days to the election I wanted to ask all of us who care about this country to seriously pray for our nations leadership, spiritual state and future direction. As a follower of Jesus Christ I do not claim to be a Republican or a Democrat. I am first and foremost an ambassador of God's kingdom. My values and convictions are first established by God's unchanging Word and the commands set forth in it. I vote as a Christian, and I pray for to our Father that His kingdom would come and His will would be done on earth, in America as it is in heaven.

First, I want to make clear that I am not pro-Obama nor am I pro-Mccain, I am pro-Jesus. I respect both candidates (the others also), but I do not necessarily agree with what each believes in or their conduct and behavior in this campaign. Will I vote for one over the other, yes I will. But let me explain why. When I vote I take into consideration both candidates history, background, voting record, character and value system. After long and careful prayer and thought, I am voting for the Mccain/Palin ticket.

Some of the reasons I am voting for Mccain/Palin are as follows...
  • Mccain's long proven experience versus Obama's short experience as a junior Senator. (Mccain 22 years vs. Obama 173 days in senate)
  • Mccain's stance on war and terrorism that opposes unconditional diplomatic talks w/ it's militant leaders vs. Obama who is willing to unconditionally talk with anyone (Obama's position in my opinion is very dangerous. With no military background and his current positions on war and negotiations w/ terrorist/nuclear leaders it brings me great concern to America's future military strength and our ability to stand and protect Israel)
  • Mccain's decision to not add any new taxes and promote a simplified tax system vs. Obama's spread the wealth theory which in my estimation is "socialism" which equates to "communism" and has been proven throughout world history to not work but deteriorate a society. I believe Obama's economic plan will not work by raising capital gains taxes, but hurt the economy more in our current economic recession resulting in less businesses and jobs for the working class and poor.
  • Mccain pro-life stance to overturn the Supreme Court Roe v. Wade decision to end abortion vs. Obama who is pro-choice and has the most liberal voting record in the US Senate to date. (Obama - Opposes any constitutional amendment to overturn the Supreme Court's decision in Roe v Wade. Disagreed with Supreme Court ruling to uphold the "Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act." Did not cast a vote on Prohibiting Funds for Groups that Perform Abortions amendment in 2007.) I can not and will not ever vote for a president who is pro-choice. God created life before the beginning of time and we are not to destroy what He created by aborting it. To date over 40 million babies have been aborted in America since 1973, 4,000 per day are aborted and this is an atrocity. I was almost aborted, but God saved my life 5 minutes before my mother went through with the decision. We must pray and fight for the lives of the unborn & promote a culture of life and a president who upholds the sanctity of life.
  • Supreme Court Justices - the next president will have the power to appoint 2 more supreme court justices and I personally will vote for Mccain/Palin because of their voting record on traditional moral and family values. Mccain/Palin will more likely put in 2 justices who are conservative rather than liberal. Mccain also would appoint as judges men and women who interpret a law by applying it as written, whereas Obama would appoint as judges those who interpret the law in accordance with their own personal beliefs. The Supreme Court is a lifetime position and it is crucial that we see to it that righteous and just judges are put into place to rule our country according to God's Word for the next decades to come.
  • Obama's is the most liberal senator on the sentate today, his Biblical values are not clear & in many instances go against the grain of Scripture, his political and spiritual history is questionable, and to me actions speak louder than words. He is in an incredible orator, I believe he loves America, but his voting record on key issues like (abortion, war on terrorism, sanctity of marriage, stem cell research, and his economic views, check his voting record with values voter guide and other links below) lead me to question his character and ability to lead in a time of crisis. (I have also read his autobiography and other books documenting his political ideology, campaign tactics and strategies, and political associates. Many ideas and practices he stated or acted upon in my estimation were unethical, gray, and left me with too many questions. Again, I believe he has a good heart and truly desires change, but his approach is not something I can personally support, Read: Audacity for Hope & Case Against Barak Obama - which I thought the latter was surprisingly objective & well documented). At the same time, no one is perfect, neither is Mccain/Palin but in a time of crisis and having to choose between the two, (I know I can vote for others but I don't believe it will make a major difference), this is why I will vote for Mccain/Palin who align more with my values, convictions and beliefs than Obama/Biden.
  • I know many will differ in their opinion in who to vote for because of other issues: such as poverty, different opinions on war, environment, health care and issues of social justice and human equality, that are also on God's heart. I am not here to argue, but I am here to encourage each of you to seek understanding, to pray about your decision and to vote according to your convictions. I pray we can all respect each others opinions and beliefs.
Attached is a "Values Voter Guide" that will compare side by side Mccain vs. Obama on traditional Christian values ranging from: stem cell research, immigration, same sex marriage, abortion, interpretation of the constitutional law etc. value%20voters%20guide.pdf & the faith based interview w/ Pastor Rick Warren between Obama and Mccain on the main issues in a final transcript form Certified_Final_Transcript.pdf

Also, follow this link to CNN to see where each candidate stands on the main issues to make an informed and prayerful decision click here

I simply ask that whoever you vote for to: pray, gain understanding, mobilize others to do the same and do your part as a citizen of America and cast your vote. May Gods will be done and His kingdom come to this great country in need of His mercy in this critical hour.

Just wanted to throw it out there that McCain/Obama are NOT our only presidential candidates in this election. Many Americans, and Christians have been misled into thinking this. Google "2008 presidential candidates".

Um, yeah... There is literally no difference between your "thoughtfulness" here and Fox news. There are MANY issues that followers of Jesus should take into consideration, not just Fox's talking points as you have. What about poverty? What about caring for the sick? What about war? Don't you think Jesus cares about those things? God bless you and your right to vote for whomever you choose, and I'm not saying that the issues you discuss here are not important. But consider this: God is so much bigger, and cares about so much more, than either party's talking points. A thoughtful and prayerful consideration of one's vote would include more than what you have here.

Keep praying..."Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven..."

Be wise! Don't waste your vote!

This game is: THE MAJORITY WINS. So don't waste your vote. Be wise! We should pull our votes together to maximize the number of majority. G! It sounds like I'm lobbying. But I'm not even a US citizen. I'm just familiar with the system as I studied here before.

This is a serious battle. This is about your country's fade. So don't waste your bullets. We should team up together. No body fights alone in the battle field. It takes Strategy and Unity to win.

Keep praying...

Thanks JMA for taking so much effort to write your analysis and give advice. I amen you. I appreciate you.

Keep praying...The Lord's Prayer.

Isaiah 58 ~ does God care for the sick and those impoverished? Absolutely, I just don't believe socialism is the way to heal and bring justice to these issues.

Follow the link to where I posted on information on each candidates stance on key issues. You will see the link is not FOX, but CNN a liberal media channel where I researched many of the issues.

grace and peace.

hey friends,

so many of you have been commenting on the issue of politics, faith, etc.

for the sake of unity and peace I will not post these comments because I see that it brings more division, argument, than healthy discourse and discussion. There are believers and non-believers alike who will agree or disagree with what I think, that is fine and I respect that. Again, we all have the freedom to vote, to pray and to do our part and express our convictions. Let us do so in a manner that is not trying to prove points, but rather encourage and sharpen one another.

also, as a rule of thumb on my blog. If you have serious disagreements, opinions or anything else to say please have the courage to state who you are, your identity and not post as "anonymous" cause I'm not about to post thoughts from people whom I do not know.

all the best guys! :D

I am going to write an article about social justice and the roots of injustice...
People have it all mixed up. One human cannot be the savior of the country or the world. Even making laws to help the poor does not solve the problem of the poor. There is a root of injustice and there is One Way that it is made right and it is not through laws alone or governments or the kingdoms of this world.
There is one Saviour and One who is just. We can't have justice in this world without Him! :-)
Since you are no longer posting on this--this comment is for your personal enjoyment!

:-)

Hey, I like your thoughts. They are really analyzed and from your heart. All I am hearing is jibberish lately, or to offend others.

One thing I offer, is McCains stance on pro life is only because he is republican. I do not believe he is personally pro life.

I do believe Obama is pro-life in other ways-such as a swift but smart way to withdraw from the war, tex cuts and a more affordable health plan.

None the less, on the bus today I heard a comment that made me think more. In the next few years niether of the candadates will be able to fix our ecomomy, just dent it maybe. I really believe Obama can do better

I am pro stem cell research.

Against abortion, thats the only thing that is a problem for me.

thank you so much again, be blessed

Followers should write in the Lord's name on the ballot. We should send a prophetic message to the nations that His Kingdom is coming and will take over, all, entirely. It's also interesting that the church father's basically said one could not be a believer and a leader of a country (and in the military). Some things we should wrestle with. We need to get out of our Christendom mentality of takeover top-down!

Oh, my brothers and sisters in Christ. It hurts me whenever I see/hear Christians being deeply influenced by the liberal media, Democratic party, and Obama's charisma. Forgive me for being blunt.

Sadly, the media (CNN, CNBC, ABC, LA Times, etc) has become a one-sided liberal machine that promotes liberal ideology. We have to be very careful for what we hear from the media. The essence of journalism of objectivity does not exist anymore. This is the end time my brothers. If you think FoxNews is too conservative, think about this...FoxNews is the only conservative news channel standing against hundreds and thousands of liberal newspapers and news channel across the nation.

I really don't understand how can one who claims to be a Christian can vote for anyone from the Democratic party!! The whole platform of the Democratic party is based on post-modern ideology. That is why Democrats promote the choice to abortion (because we are our own God. We do whatever we want to our bodies), gay rights (because there is no moral standard. everything is relative). If you object to the Iraqi war, fine...but remember. It is not the Republican. It was a joined decision from both Republican and Democrat to go to war. Even you totally disagreed with the war, at least you should be thankful that we haven't have another 9/11 that the terrorist have worked day and night to try to make that happen again on our soil. Our soldiers are doing a great job protecting us from overseas. They've been successfully stopping the terrorist before they can come to us.

My brothers and sisters, please wake up and see through Obama...
How can one say Obama is pro-life when he voted 3 times NO on the "Born Alive Infant Protection Act" (any baby born alive, no matter what gestational age, no matter what reason, wanted or not, was constitutionally protected as a legal person). Basically, he said NO even to the babies who survived abortion. These babies were left to die. Even senator Hillary Clinton voted Yes on the Act.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, we should not put economy above what our Lord has died for--every single life on earth, from unborn child to old age. Our Lord knows us even when we were in our mothers' womb.

"What about poverty? What about the sick?" My friend, socialism is a proven wrong solution in the 20th century. All the socialist/communist countries like China, Soviet Union, Vietnam, North Korea are all extremely corrupted governments. Countries like China and Vietnam are reforming their economies to capitalism. Why? Because socialism (spreading the wealth) DOES NOT WORK!! Don't confuse socialism with what the early church did where they were voluntarily sharing their wealth; whereas socialism is forcing people to share their wealth and let the people in high places to determine who they should re-distribute the wealth to.

Why many European countries supported Obama? Because they are all socialistic Godless countries. Look at Denmark, Holland, Belgium, and France. Most of these countries passed gay marriage act in the early 90's. Now, Holland, Belgium, and France also allowed incest marriages. And some European countries also allowed animal sex and sex between an adult and a child. It's a slippery slope my friends!!

Please brothers and sisters. Think about what I said. Do not put this man, Obama, to the throne. Otherwise, our nation will go farther and farther away from God. Our children will suffer. I believe, we as a nation, will be judged by God.
