Revival & Riot on LA Campuses!
Revival & Riot on Los Angeles Campuses....Two things happened when Jesus preached…"Revival & Riot." Two things happened when Paul preached…"Revival & Riot." Right now we are at the tipping point of a Jesus revolution in Los Angeles. In the last few months there have been nearly half a dozen public high schools in LA that have shut down student-led "open-air prayer/worship/preaching" meetings. If this continues, only two things will happen… "Revival & Riot."
· Arcadia High School: A graduate student started preaching in the middle of the quad & was arrested by the administration. An Arcadia high student followed suit and started preaching after him while the other one was being arrested. He too was told to stop, but when the administration had got done speaking to him he got back up and started preaching again in another area of the quad. Immediately, 6 students rededicated there lives to Jesus Christ on the spot. The students were told by the administration they couldn't preach because it was disturbing the peace. At this same high school a group of Christian students were told they could not pray in public because of the same reason.
· Whitney High School: During the first 3 days of school a mass of students began to gather in the middle of the campus to pray for revival. While they were praying some students and even a janitor came to Christ and was filled with the Holy Spirit! They were later shut down by school administration and teachers who said they should not be allowed to pray and worship in the middle of campus because it would not be tolerating the faith of their Muslim and Hindu classmates. The outdoor prayer/worship meeting was stopped. They were even told by the administration that they were not allowed to personally evangelize or even pass out flyers for Christian related purposes. Sadly, even the Christian advisor (a teacher) of this club urged the students to obey the administration and only evangelize through servant evangelism. Some students didn't listen and started to preach and prophesy over students during lunch. Another lost student was saved. A teacher saw this student evangelizing and reported her to the office administration this student (president of the club) was kicked out of the Christian club for "evangelizing" and now is continuing forth in evangelizing risking her reputation, education and freedom.
· Sunny Hills High School: Another student couldn't take it anymore that the Christians in the Christian club on campus were complacent, not sharing the Gospel & took it upon himself to start prayer walking, evangelizing and desired to start a campus church. He received a vision to call the campus church (UCLA) or Underground Church Living Army. Last week 4 students came to Christ and others joined him to prayer walk the campus. He told me if the administration caught him prayer walking or preaching he would be kicked out on the spot.
· UCLA: Ever since we worshipped and preached in the middle of Bruin Walk at UCLA a few months ago and saw students give their lives to Christ a revolution has begun. Since then we have heard reports from UC Riverside, Pasadena City College, Cal State Long Beach, UC Irvine, USC and other college campuses of students rising up to proclaim Jesus as King in the middle of their campuses through warfare worship and open air preaching. Is revival breaking out just yet? Maybe not, but these are signs that something is shifting in the spiritual realm.
"And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force." Matthew 11:12
For years I have been prophesying that there will come a time in North America where it will be illegal to preach the Gospel. I think we are seeing it happen right before our eyes here in Los Angeles. Students are being shut down and told to stop sharing their faith, worship God or pray because it "offends" others. Was the Gospel ever meant to be "non-offensive?" What if we told Jesus not to preach the Kingdom message while He was on earth because it would "offend others" what do you think He would say? The sad thing is not only are the unbelievers telling these Jesus freaks to stop preaching the Gospel but so are the Christian students and teachers in the Christian clubs. Somehow we are to resort only to "friendship & servant evangelism?" I wholeheartedly believe in these forms of evangelism, but not when it comes to taking away my right to worship, pray and preach the Gospel. Yes, "preach the Gospel and if necessary use words, St. Francis Assisi once said." But, the point is, right now we are possibly in a- if necessary "use words" hour in North America. I'm not saying all are called to preach in the middle of their campuses, but if Holy Spirit calls you to it, then you must be obedient.
"So they called them and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." Acts 4:18-20
The only time Christ-followers are to disobey civil government is when it goes against God's commands. When the civil government commands us not to preach the Gospel we can only respond like Peter and John did to the supreme court of their day, "Whether it is right in the sight of God to listen to you more than to God, you judge. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard!" Two things are about to happen on campuses in Los Angeles California. Revival and Riot! It is here & the revolution has begun. What happens when students begin to preach and get kicked out of school for doing so? What happens when students continue to worship, pray and preach in the middle of their campuses and get kicked out of their Christian clubs, kicked out of school or even arrested and put in jail? So what? OK, so what if you get arrested for preaching the Gospel on your high school campus? This isn't China and they are not going to torture you~ just yet. Do you think the underground Church in China backs down from preaching the Gospel when they are told not to do so by the Communist government? I don't think so, that is why thousands have been martyred for their faith and tortured in jail. Try reading the book "Heavenly Man" by Brother Yun & let that book put some boldness in your spirit! If student after student, day after day, continue to worship, pray and preach out on their high school campuses and get arrested there are only two results…revival and riot. Maybe a student gets arrested and put in jail for his faith and it gets on the evening LA news. Maybe this student sues the California school board for violating his/her freedom of speech and the case goes to the Supreme Court. Maybe by then CNN picks up on it and the story gains national attention? What happens when the frustrated on-fire high school Christian student in Arkansas watches the news story? What happens when that complacent Christian club that isn't doing anything but having social meetings on campus sees the story in Minnesota? Exactly. A revolution is going to break out in epic proportions from the West to East Coast & into the nations! I am not advocating that we go out and start a riot for a riots sake. That would be human zeal and not a work of God. I am saying that we must share the Gospel at all costs. It just boggles my mind that students are being told that they can not even personally witness on their campus. If the result for simply sharing Christ with others is a riot, so be it.
Blow Up Christian CLUBS
"And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My Church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it." Matthew 16:18
This last weekend I was at a wedding and talking with my CCN director in Northern California. He told me how he spoke at this high school "Wake Up" rally and challenged the students to stop being CLUB and do CHURCH right on campus. That's right, baptize students in the swimming pool, pray for the sick, cast out demons, worship and preach the Gospel till heaven establishes itself on earth. Why not? I heard this and I felt like the Lord spoke to me about starting a "B.U.S." ministry standing for "Blow Up Squad."
In other words, "blow up Christian CLUBS." I'm frustrated at the use of the word "CLUB" or "fellowship" on our high school and college campuses. Jesus did not die for a club to be established on the earth. When you are a club you do what clubs do, you socialize, you abide by the club rules and you become like any other club on campus, a in-grown, inclusive, social gathering. Jesus didn't die so that His "club" could be established. There is no authority in a club. If you think you are a "club" you are what you think & your actions will follow. A club will have to submit to school regulations rather than God's. Clubs don't beat down the gates of Hell they look at each other and ask what are we to do in our club program this week? I'm not going to get down on all Christian clubs, for there are many in them who are genuinely trying to push back the forces of darkness on their campus.
Point being this, Jesus died to establish His CHURCH on the earth. When you see yourself as God's CHURCH on campus you will rise up in authority and responsibility to take ownership of that call. I sense a calling to blow up Christian clubs! That means challenging Christ-followers on campuses to stop doing "club" and start being the "church" on their campus. Jesus never said in Matthew 28:18 "COME" and make disciples! He never said, "Come to my Christian club" and I will make you a disciple. NO! He said, "GO!" and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit teaching them all things I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." That means if we want to see revival on our campuses we will have to blow up our club meetings and GO OUT to where the lost are, win them to Christ and teach them to be disciples of Jesus at all costs! It is time to take the Gospel public! We must leave our four walls and fill the earth with God's glory.
"For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea." Habakkuk 2:14
How do you fill the earth with God's glory? It won't just happen only in our Sunday service meetings and weekly fellowship gatherings. The only way God will get His glory filled in all the earth is when those who carry His glory bring it out and into society. Christ in us the hope of glory. God wants to pour out His Holy Spirit in our government halls, business buildings, campuses, stadiums etc. It is time for us to shine our light in the darkness and fill our campuses and cities with the glory of God. How do we do this? We do this through night and day WORSHIP and INTERCESSION.
Heaven on Earth…Nothing Less
"I have set watchmen on your walls, O Jerusalem; They shall never hold their peace day or night. You who make mention of the Lord, do not keep silent, And give Him no rest til He establishes and till He makes Jerusalem a praise in the earth." Isaiah 62:6-7
"Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven." Matthew 6:9-10
Heaven on earth nothing less. The Lords prayer is a prayer of revival. It is a prayer to see heaven come down to earth, not the other way around. Too long have we had this "Left Behind" Jesus come and rapture me mentality from this wicked world perspective. This is the biggest lie Satan could have us believe. To give up and just "survive" as Christians and watch Satan rule the earth. Hell NO! Meaning, "Say NO TO HELL!" God's goal is to send revival on earth. It is His goal to establish heaven on earth, which equates to revival or God's arrival. There is no sickness, no depression, no immorality & there is no demonic darkness in heaven. What is there in heaven? Righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. There is 24/7 worship and intercession going before the throne of God and this is what God wants us to do on earth (Rev 5:8)! How will we get heaven on earth? It will only come when we give God "no rest" and knock on heavens gates in worship and prayer till His kingdom come. The more we worship, the more He comes. The more we pray, the more He comes in the fullness of His kingdom. That is why God is releasing an end-time strategy to His Church right now to worship and pray till His kingdom comes and establishes itself in our campuses, cities and nations.
In early February 2005 I wrote a prophetic article called, "Apostolic Preaching and Prophetic Worship on Campuses." I saw a vision one night where I saw hundreds of students (for some reason many of them were Asian) up and down the West Coast of California worshipping God in public with guitars and banjos. Then I saw these students rise up and began to apostolically preach on their campuses and city streets like in the days of Acts & the Great Awakenings. It was then I saw a mighty sweeping revival that would bring thousands if not more, into God's kingdom all over the West Coast till this revolution spread like an epidemic to the rest of the nation. I wrote this article in February 2005 and now we are beginning to see it happen in Los Angeles these past 4 months. When I wrote the article I was not even thinking about relocating to LA.
STRIKE LA MOVEMENT…Signs of the LA Times
In August a local pastor in LA got the vision for REFORMATION (www.strikela.org ). He began to call churches all over LA to STRIKE the central high places of influence in the city for WORSHIP WARFARE AND PRAYER. He knew in order for the darkness to flee in Los Angeles it would take the saints of God to do spiritual violence and declare God's glory in the places of dark spiritual stronghold. For our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the spiritual powers, principalities and dark forces of the air (Eph 6:10-18). With this vision the STRIKE LA movement started and students from churches all over Los Angeles began to launch out in marches releasing open air worship and prayer over UCLA, USC, Staples Center, City Hall, Hollywood Blvd, Skid Row, Old Town Pasadena, Melrose, 3 rd St. Promenade, etc…the strikes are still continuing right now.
Why worship and pray in the public? Because LIGHT always overcomes the DARKNESS! The dark never stands a chance against the light. The Church is to get out of the four walls and take its LIGHT to the darkness. When we begin to worship and pray in the places where there are demonic strongholds…the darkness has no choice but to flee! Something has been stirring in LA these past months. Some local churches have started to hold their Sunday services in the public as a prophetic act of "reformation" to take God's glory into society. It is a movement of revival & reformation and it is not by accident that local churches, pastors, lay leaders and students all over LA right now are taking their worship, their prayer and their proclamation of the Gospel into the public. A revolution has started & it is now time to rise up in faith filled action!
Revival & Riot…
Two things happen when the true Gospel is preached…Revival & Riot. Are you ready America? This may not be the Gospel you signed up for, but this is the one Jesus died for. I didn't become a Christ-follower to join a Sunday meeting or club on campus, I signed up because my Savior told me to "take up my cross, deny myself and follow Him." I am at the end of living another day of American Christianity. I will live for nothing else but to love Him and make Him known to my generation. Reformation…nothing less. I wake up to see heaven on earth each day. Give me revival or give me death! I'm dead serious. I only want to live to see the glory & power of God revealed in its fullness in my lifetime. You can ridicule me, throw at me all your theology for why I should settle for less, but I don't care, it doesn't matter. I am ruined for revival. I've read about it in the Bible, whether it was in Josiah's day or the day of Pentecost when God added more than 20,000 believers in a matter of days into His Church. More than that, I've tasted His presence and I am zealous for others to experience the same. Thousands of students on every high school campus are devoid of God's love & yet we are satisfied with having a Christian club of 10 or 100. Thousands of students are already dead and on their way to eternal separation from God if we don't tell them the hope that we have, yet we are satisfied with cultural Christianity and a national average of 4% Christians on collegiate universities. We either have another great awakening or a generation that will be lost into the hands of Satan. Hell No! I'm laying my life down for this vision. Revival & Riot? So let it be. Jesus welcomed it and so will I. In this world we will have trials and tribulations but fear not for Christ has overcome the world! It is time to lay it all down, give it all up and do spiritual violence. A revolution has begun in the hearts of students in Los Angeles…obey God or man? I'll let you answer that before God in prayer. I've lived my entire Christian life for this moment…whether it comes or not, I will fight to the death. I would rather die and say I lived every day for God's purposes, for heaven on earth, for revival, for reformation and nothing less…than to die with regret. Maranatha! Come Lord Jesus come! Bring it on…I'm going to worship, pray and preach till a Revival & Riot breaks out in my generation. Pray like it all depends on God and live like it all depends on you!
But let me close with this. We as Christ-followers are not to purposely evoke riots or resistance from civil authorities. Simply put, we are called to love God & love others. We are called to pray for our government, authorities, & even our enemies. We are called to GO and make disciples. We are called to preach the Gospel whether by word or deed (Isaiah 58, 61). Sometimes, preaching the Gospel can result in persecution. Sometimes, like Jesus, Paul or the New Testament saints it can even result in a riot. Yet, a riot is not our goal, revival is, love is, pleasing our Father is...by being obedient to what He has called us each to do.
"Jesus gave them this answer: "I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does." John 5:19
As the great revivalist Charles Finney once said about revival...
"Revival is nothing more than renewed zeal to obey God"
Contending for Heaven on Earth,
Jaeson Ma
"I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quite lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all mento be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4
For those of you joining this revolution please continue to pray and make prayer your priority. Pray for our states government, civic leaders and education authorities. Prayer is the one thing that will protect us, keep us humble and give us wisdom in how to stand for our Lord in this crucial hour.

Actual accounts of what happened at Whitney High and Sunny Hills from
emails sent to me...
From student at Whitney High...
hey jaeson
this is just clarifications for Whitney High for the article...
-a group of about 5-15 kids met mon-thurs every week in summer on campus
and cried out for open heavens. had prayer walks, and anointed the school
with oil
-three days before school started we went up to school staff and prayed
for many of them
-one janitor was touched by the holy spirit and always asked us to pray
for him
-we actively prophecied and proclaimed victory over the campus; had
prophetic intercession over specific teachers and was led by dreams and
visions
-we recieved our first warning due to passing out drinks at the new
student orientation (one day before school) with bible verses attached to
the cups (as a club, we then ripped off the name jesus club from our
poster and they still didnt let us)
-first three days of school we evangelised as much as possible and never
let a break time pass without prayer
-3 days into school we were stopped from sharing the gospel and passing
out church flyers because we did it too much..we were also stopped from
praying aloud in the public to protect the rights of the other students,
mainly hindu and muslim and whatnot. some teacher was also really offended
when we asked her if we could pray for her and she told the principle, and
she blamed the club and so we couldnt pray for anyone we wanted either i
guess?
-we just prayed indoors every morning, snack, lunch, and afterschool
-we evangelized but not with flyers, we did it kind of secretly and eight
people accept christ and one healing occured during an intercessory
meeting
-we settled for what the administration told us but decided we werent
satisfied because we saw one salvation per week drop to zero
-we had these orange tshirts that we wore to publicize every jesus club
meeting and the front said "jesus club mtg today at lunch" and on the back
i told them they could put whatever they want. some people put verses or
stuff like "God loves you" kind of stuff, and the advisor made them make a
new shirt without "evangelistic" comments on them...
-we put on revivall to stir other schools (but our advisor didnt seem to
estatic about the event, she added more emphasis on picking up trash than
reaping the harvest), it was not hosted by the club because the school
didnt allow it
-started evangelizing again and went as we believe the spirit led us and
went against what the advisor and assprinciple had told the club not to do
(evangelize and go out in public with gospel)...
-saw a young girl accept christ as God spoke to us
-next day a teacher saw one student preaching and others evangelizing and
she immediately stopped us and went straight to the club advisor.
-advisor asked pres to resign immediately (and offended the students with
her comments! :)
-numerous counselors, teachers, campus security, administration have made
it clearrrr that they do not allow us to have the freedom we desire.
-advisor made it clear that those who want to continue in the paths of
evangelism and preaching will have to leave the membership of the club and
deal directly with the principle in the future
-pres resigned and several have followed. we will continue to preach,
evangelize, pray and worship as we desire
whitney high student
From student at Sunny Hills high...
hey Jaeson, this is stephen and I would just like to give you an
update on what God is doing in Sunny Hills.
Tuesday was the first UCLA meeting, we started with an all lunch prayer
walk around the whole campus. On one occassion, my friend and I were
going pass from bleachers and this girl threw out an F bomb on us. That
was kind of cool. But the important thing is that God started something
and I'm very happy to be a part of it. Then afterschool, Tim Pae and Josh
Kim from Blessed came over to witness and 4 people got saved!!! Salvation
is springing up!!! I also got to talk to a lot of people I never seen
before and I got their numbers to contact them and let them know about
UCLA meetings.
Wednesday was a short day, but I talked to a guy in my 5th period class
about Underground Church of the Living Army (UCLA) and he was totally into
it. That was about it on Wednesday.
Today was awesome. I didn't really want to go to school today, but the
Lord used my journal with REVIVALL written in red to draw attention,
giving me an opportunity to tell my classmates about UCLA and the plan God
has for Sunny Hills. Oh also, during first period, one of the most
popular guys in school was interested in coming to my church's lock-in
this friday. If he comes, man I pray he does come, that would be awsome.
Then during 3rd I got to talk to this hard-core party girl and talk to her
about he 10 commandments and how Jesus was the ultimate sacrifice for all
those laws that are impossible to keep. She left the converstaion
refreshed and more interested in the Bible than ever before and also
taking a vow never to cuss. She had a goth friend and this "ganster" guy
friend right there listening to the whole conversation. I know that God
sparked a curiosity in them :). Then during lunch my friend and I did
another prayer walk. Didn't get persecuted, but we were spotted by THE
ADMINISTRATION twice! Man, if they knew what I was doing, I could get in
big trouble right now; but then again, I really don't care. Then during
the rest of the day I've been inviting people to do a prayer walk
tomorrow. I think 4 more people are coming on board :D. Oh, also, my
friend Alex, who is a freshman, got a word after the prayer and talked to
the guy clostest to him and man he was very close and I think it touched
the guy because he said he would come out to UCLA Bible study meetings.
Yeah, so that's about it for the first 3 days of UCLA. I still remember
not to despise the days of humble beginnings. I don't even care if it's
just me and Alex the entire year if that is what God wants to build a firm
foundation. However, things are moving a lot faster than I thought right
now so please keep me in your prayers; that's the only way I can keep up
with God.
thanks jaeson

Jaeson, keep it up. This encourages many to step it up.

Wow, I'm shocked to see the persecution at the high schools. I was on a government in my senior year at Arcadia High School, and there is no LEGAL reason why we shouldn't be allowed to pray or preach in schools unless we use the school's equipment! I'm glad you post things about things that are going on in all different schools in southern california - shows a bigger picture of what's going on.
yes! take em GOd!
thought you might like this article about the Jesus club in my highschool. We were shut down by the administration for preaching in the school and passing out "offensive" tracts. It was all very timely because we had two seniors in our class killed in automobile accidents. We were able to witness to so many more students then we ever had before. your right two things can happen when you preach, revival or riots. and they both happened to us.

THE PRESS DEMOCRAT PAGE: B1
Santa Rosa school board members on Thursday denounced religious tracts critical of homosexuals and Muslims distributed by Montgomery High students.
But board members said constitutional free speech rights protect the material passed out by members of the school's Jesus Club.
``We're dealing with the fundamentals of our democracy,'' board member Bill Carle said at a hastily scheduled meeting to discuss the brouhaha on the Montgomery campus.
``Nothing's more important than free speech,'' board member Hugh Futrell said, even as he and fellow board member Frank Pugh condemned the material as bigotry.
``I have a right to say I'm offended,'' Pugh said.
On a 6-0 vote, the board adopted a resolution stating that it ``deplores racism, sexism and all other forms of bigotry.''
Afterward, club members said the board dodged their allegations that Montgomery teachers have promulgated a hostile environment for Christian students.
``I feel that we have been thrown to the lions,'' said Abigail Hernandez, a Montgomery senior who helped start the 15-member club two years ago.
Club members defended the pamphlets, which were distributed on Sept. 22. Among the tracts, which are in a comic book format, were pamphlets depicting homosexuals and Muslims converting to Christianity after seeing the error of their ways.
``We believe that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven,'' Hernandez said. ``Everybody's entitled to their opinion.''
The dispute was the only matter handled in public by the board Thursday before a previously scheduled closed-door session. It was added to the agenda a day earlier, complying with a state law that requires 24-hours notice of a public meeting.
Although school board members spoke of free speech, Hernandez said if they cared about her First Amendment rights they would have allowed her to speak at the meeting.
She and five other club members were among a group of students at the meeting.
Board President Jere Jacobs told her father, Robert Hernandez, the pastor at Potters House, a Santa Rosa Christian congregation, to speak for the club.
Hernandez and his 17-year-old daughter contended that Nina Peterson, an English teacher at Montgomery, was pressured by other faculty members into resigning as adviser to the Jesus Club.
``There's been a real lack of respect,'' said Karen Tedesco, mother of the club president, Joe Tedesco.
Montgomery principal Bill Stirnus said four or five of the school's 88 staff members were ``absolutely incensed'' by the material.
But he told the board that Peterson quit because the students didn't notify her of their plans to distribute the material last week during Club Day on the Montgomery campus.
``It was her decision to make and she made it,'' Stirnus said.
Jacobs said Peterson's motivation was ``not at issue here,'' but the club's status had to be resolved since school regulations require a faculty adviser.
Students and officials agreed that club members could continue meeting unofficially on campus. ``I think that God will provide a sponsor,'' Abigail Hernandez said.
On campus Wednesday afternoon, students said the furor was pervasive.
``It's a pretty big deal,'' senior Tyler Scudero said. The tracts, he said, ``made fun of Muslims, Jewish people and homosexuals.''
The material might be covered by the First Amendment, he said, but ``to me it seems like a giant hate crime.''
Aeon Brady, a senior, said he hadn't seen the tracts but had no problem with Jesus Club members ``if they're not confronting people aggressively.''
School board members said the club has a right to be on campus, and called on Montgomery teachers to use the episode as a ``teachable moment'' on First Amendment freedoms.
