Pray for Mercy Upon China and Myanmar Disasters

When I read the front page news of students buried alive under buildings in Xinhua China, when I saw the pictures of their bodies toppled over one another, I could not help but cry and ask God for mercy. Please pray, please help and let us unite together all over the world to aid our suffering brothers and sisters in Xinhua China after this devastating earthquake. As well as pray and do the same for those suffering, dying or homeless in Myanmar from the cyclones. Please post on this blog different organizations and way to help with aid. Below is an international prayer alert from the International Prayer Council. Lord Jesus, have mercy. JMA

Dear Friends,

Please continue to keep Myanmar in your prayers. There are over 34,000 confirmed dead and relief has only reached only a small portion of those needing assistance.

According to BBC News, the spokeswoman of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Geneva, Elizabeth Byrs, warned that its teams had only been able to reach 270,000 people - less than a fifth of the estimated total of survivors.

"We are only seeing the peak of the iceberg, and the situation risks becoming a lot more dramatic if there isn't an acceleration of humanitarian aid," she said. So far, she said, the World Food Programme had been able to send only 361 tonnes of food aid - and distribute just 175 tonnes. A further 55,000 tonnes of rice would be needed to feed those most in need for the next three months, Ms Byrs said. Half of the rice would need to beimported. "The scope of the disaster is huge," she warned. "That's why we need to act quickly in order to avoid a second disaster or maybe a third disaster." Please pray for a quick acceleration of the relief effort and that the government of Myanmar will allow professional relief workers from other nations to organize and distribute the supplies so many are still waiting to receive.

In another tragic development, the most destructive earthquake in three decades has hit Sichuan province in China, killing at least 12,000 and probably tens of thousands more. Pray for the swift rescue of those who are trapped beneath fallen structures and for a rapid and well organized relief effort to assist the survivors. Please also pray for God’s comfort and hope
for the massive numbers of people-men, women and children- who have lost their loved ones and had their lives so terribly disrupted.

Thanks for remembering these situations.

Yours in Christ,

JohnRobb

This is a very good one.
http://tsinghuafoundation.org/earthquake08/index.html

100% goes to China directly without any restriction. and It is easy to donate using your credit card or bank account. Paypal and Google checkout kindly waived transaction fee too.

Red cross has upper limit of how much they will give to China and sometime it require additional human right action from China b4 they give money. so I do not recommand red cross this time.

A brother from Myanmar:

Hi friends,
Greetings you from Pathein Myanmar.
Hopefully you already know about the natural disaster. It was so painful and sad experience that we, the people from Myanmar are suffering. Throughout the whole night my two year old son, and my pregnant wife who is going to give birth next month and I had to taste the painful experience of cyclone disaster. the roof of my house was blown by the wind since 1:00 am. So, we have no place to go. we just stood in the rain the whole night. In the morning between 6 am to 1 pm, the wind is getting worse. So, we tried to escape from the dangerous situation in the morning about 6:00 am. It was very dangerous to escape because the roof (zinc) were flying and all the trees fell down. Anyhow, we left everything and we escaped. all the house in our Mission compound were damaged but no body died. only one lady suffered because the branch of the tree fell of upon here. By the grace of God , she is alive.
All my books get wet. My note books float in the water. We could not take anything with us when we tried to escape. We all are very sad because we suffered. But when we hear about the news of our Karen people in the delta area, our suffering is just nothing.
Nearly all the Karen people who live in the Lat Put Ta township suffered severely. Most of the villages were totally disappeared. the majority died in that disaster. We just come back from that area about three weeks ago. We were having a good time with them when we went there and give the Bible study from one village to another. But now nearly all our people died. Right now, I left my family and came to help the refugees who survive in Pwo Kayin Mission Compound in Pathein town. The ministers and youth in Pathein Myaung Mya association went there by their own boat and saved their lives and brought them back to Pathein in Pwo Kayin mission compound.
For the time being there are 268 people were saved and fed in our mission compound. But there are still nearly one hundreds people left without water and food in their area. So tomorrow, if we can get boat, we will go and save the rest people. When we come back , there will be more than 300 people. Right now we are trying to collect the money, the food, the clothes, and the medicines. We get some but it is not enough for them. it cost about 200 $ per day just to feed about 268 people. For the long run, they will all die if they do not get support from out side . So, if you know any friends who is interested in helping them by hearing the cry and suffering of Our Lord Jesus through these people. These people really need your loving care, support and prayers.
The problem is that we can not collect the deta detail. According to my friends, there will be more than 100,000 people died and compare to them, Su Na Mi is just nothing. The rest people are also suffering a lot because they do not get water, food, and they are also suffering from diseases. If you would like to help them, you can get in touch with me or you can call Rev. Mahn Tun Than who is the general secretary of Pathein Myaung Mya association with his phone no. of 09855 2228 and 042-21185.

PS. Please forward this message to anyone you know.

Love and Peace,

Check this NGO out from my friend Josh

Hello Friends and Family.

It has been over 72 hours since the Earthquake hit in Sichuan province. Many thousands of people are in desperate need.

I am currently in Beijing, and have direct contact with my friends who are on the ground in Sichuan.
They are members of an NGO called "Alpha Communities" and have been running several relief projects in the area for many years.

Yesterday, one of their members who is a nurse saved the lives of 7 people who were trapped under rubble.
The next step will be setting up a relief centre to distribute food and supplies to the survivors.

If are looking for a way to give please go to WWW.ALPHACOMMUNITIES.ORG. They have personnel on the ground, at the epicenter, right now. They are personal friends of mine, and can be trusted with your donations

Thank you,

-Josh

Pray for China's awakening after the earthquake.

At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, "Once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens."The words "once more" indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe.

Hello everyone,

I would recommend Levi Lim as an insider for someone you can funnel aid to Myanmar through. She has set up a website listed below. Levi is a citizen of Myanmar.

I personally traveled with Daniel and Levi Lim to Myanmar in August 2006. They have a distinct desire to see all of Myanmar won for Jesus Christ.
