Dear Prayer Team,
This is a MAJOR PRAYER REQUEST that I need you to pray for RIGHT NOW. I can't explain the prophetic importance of this prayer request, but it is giant. Please pray for my dear friend Pastor Daniel Lim's little new born baby Emma who is in the intensive care unit at this moment fighting for her dear life. I was in deep intercession this morning and I knew that there is a demonic spirit coming against the life of this baby because it represents the calling and destiny of an entire generation.
Please read the prayer request below from Daniel Lim's assistant. Then please read the prophetic dream I had of baby Emma below this blog post and it will explain the importance of us praying for this little baby to live. I had posted this dream of Emma earlier this year, but what you will read below is what has happened after the dream. IT WILL LIVE. IT WILL BE LOVED. IT WILL FULFILL THE DESTINY FOR WHICH IT WAS CREATED FOR. WE DECLARE LIFE OVER BABY EMMA! IN JESUS NAME! AMEN.

Jaeson,
This is the update as of today:
Emmanuel Lim (Emma Lim) was born 5 lbs and 14 oz on October 13, 2007 at 6:11am. Daniel and Levi's new baby, Emma, is need of urgent prayer.
Emma is still in intensive care on oxygen, unable to eat on her own. She still has infection and we need for her spinal fluid culture to come back negative and for her brain to be protected.
Levi is home recovering from her c-section and is separated from Emma. Please pray for Emma to become active in breathing, eating, mental activity, and movement and pray for Emma to come home asap.
I think Daniel is trying to be strong, but is very concerned. Please pray for strength to the whole family. Thanks for being such a faithful intercessor!

Emma Dream RevisitedSaturday, June 09, 2007
Emma Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. 1 John 3:1
Recently, Holy Spirit has been showing me more and more the love of the Father. I can't express what is going on deep within me, but something is changing in my heart and it's amazing to see how Abba Father is showing me not only His great love for me, but also His great immeasurable love for this fatherless generation...
Last week I had a very interesting encounter. A significant dream that came through a interesting scenario. I'll call this dream "Emma"
Last Wed night (May 23) I received a dream. This dream came before the "Emma" dream. In this dream I was trying to get to a revival meeting I was scheduled to speak at. In the dream I was rushing to get to the meeting, but I ended up moments late and had to re-schedule.
I woke up from the dream Thursday morning. That very day I had a flight from LAX to New Jersey for the Nyack College Revival I was speaking at. Well, I ended up rushing from Pasadena to LAX airport after recording at the studio with Mike. I got to the airport check in for American Airlines, paid the guy at the curbside to check in my bag and he says, "Sorry , sir I can't check in your bags because we have a 45 minute check in rule and you are 3 minutes late." I said, "You got to be kidding me? Are you serious?" He was as serious as a box of chocolates and pointed me to a 2 hour long line to re-schedule my flight. I couldn't believe it, my dream of not making a revival meeting on time the night before was happening right before my eyes. When I got to the ticket counter they ended up not having any available flights cause it was Memorial Day weekend. In the end, I had to use my frequent flyer points with United and booked a 6am flight the next day to Jersey. Remember, all things work together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose (Rom 8:28).
The next morning I wake early (way too early for a human being to do so) and get on the 6am flight to the east coast. I end up completely knocking out for the whole entire flight. While asleep on this flight, I received a very significant dream. Had I not taken this early flight, I wonder if I would have received the following dream. Somehow God intricately works out His plans and purposes in our lives without our understanding, I believe this is one of those cases. I get dreams almost every night, many times with relevance towards the day or issues in life, but when I say significant, I really believe this dream was "special" and is a message not only to those I spoke to at the revival meeting, but to all of us.
"A Dream Called Emma"While I was sleeping I dreamed I was in a elementary school cafeteria. In this cafeteria I was sitting at a lunch table with a bunch of little kids around me, maybe 7-9 years old. As I was sitting there, my old best friend father walks up to me. He shakes my hand and says, "Jaeson thank you for taking care of Emma, I always knew you were a good man, thank you for taking care of my Emma." I was bewildered to hear this from him because I thought I was just having fun with the children I was sitting with. But I was honored to receive such a compliment from a man I respected so much.
Right after my old best friends father thanks me for taking care of his Emma, walking up next to him and towards me is Mike Bickle from the International House of Prayer. He walks up to me and says, "Jaeson make sure you take care of Emma, she is a very special child. When she was born she sang to me and 'Love loves her!" When he said, "Love love hers" everyone in the room was in awe and wonder, it was almost like the room gasped for air in amazement. I looked around the other lunch room tables and there were other children and some parents listening to what Mike had said about "Emma".
Again, I was taken aback when hearing this message from Mike Bickle. He then left the room and I was there still sitting and eating lunch with this small group of children, mostly little girls around my lunch table. As I looked across the lunch table from me, I saw a little Chinese girl. On her shirt was a sticker name tag and it said, "Hello my name is... EM" Em? I asked this little girl, "Excuse me, but does Em stand for Emma, are you Emma?" She said, "Yes, that's me!" We both smiled at each other and then we went off to play outside.
When I woke up, I typed down this dream in my blackberry and began to ponder it's meaning. I knew it had deep significance, especially the name "Emma." While the plane landed into Washington D.C. I googled the name meaning for "Emma" on my phone. The name Emma comes from the name "Emmanuela" which is the female form of "Emmanuel" or "God with us", it could also mean "all embracing." I was struck by this name meaning, still praying and pondering the interpretation of the dream, I shared the dream with my room mate and co-worker Peter Gent when I got to Nyack college.
After sharing the dream with Peter, I also shared how my old best friends father was someone I deeply respected and looked up to as a "father figure." He was an elder at my old church, was a faithful husband and father, a man of integrity and honor, I always respected him and sometimes felt I was not good enough for him. In the dream I was surprised he called me a "good man." Peter listened intently to the details of the characters in my dream, while listening he simply said,
"Jaeson I think your best friends father represents the Father heart of God (God as a Father or the father heart message), Mike Bickle represents Intimacy with Christ (Jesus as a Bridegroom or the Bridal Paradigm message). Both are thanking and asking you to take care of or "embrace" Emma, because she is special. This little Chinese girl represents the "student back to Jerusalem movement" that was birthed here at Nyack three years ago that has called forth nearly 2,000 young Asian student missionaries to preach the Gospel to the last un-reached peoples of the earth. You must be very careful to take care of this Emma, for God is calling you to be a father to this movement. She sang to God (prophetically symbolizing a "love song" or affectionate love for God, Zeph 3:17) and "Love loves her" is the message she must know in her heart, in order to accomplish the mission God has given her. For God is love and we love Him because He first loved us (1 John 4:19). Her name is Emma, because God is with her, He will not leave her alone nor forsake His great love to her. She must know that God's love will never leave her or forsake her. She must know she is the beloved of God and in her, He is well pleased. By Emma knowing the love of God for her, this heart revelation will sustain her and give her the necessary foundation to never be shaken, to accomplish all God has for her to do with joy!"
After Peter shared this with me, I was astounded. I never really saw myself as a father to others, honestly, I still feel like I'm just learning to become a faithful man of God. These last years, I've simply been doing my best to rally a young generation into God's heart and to do His mission on the earth in these last days. At the same time, I also was convicted in my heart, realizing the last 3 years I have been calling students to a mission, but not exactly into the heart of the Father, nor a sustaining intimate relationship with our passionate Bridegroom Jesus. God was showing me, that unless this student mission movement is founded upon His unfailing love, the movement will not last, the missionaries will burn out, literally commit spiritual suicide on the mission field, because they were running on vision and personal zeal, but not the unlimited and faithful love of the Father.
For so many students, Asian's especially, there is a failure mentality. We never seem to be able to "do enough" for anyone. Whether it be our parents, our teachers, our friends or society in general, we feel like we have to perform to be approved. The truth of the matter is this, God is our Father, a loving Father who does not expect us to do anything for Him. In His unconditional love we are forever accepted and never rejected. We are not living for His approval, but from His approval. We are made perfect, worthy, valuable and honorable through the finished work of Christ on the cross. Jesus paid the price, finished the work, so we would never have to strive or work again. We don't have to try to be holy, we already are holy in Christ. We don't have to behave in order to be accepted. Through grace, we are already are accepted, when we believe this, we naturally behave and be like Christ. That is, be holy as He is holy.
Many times, we don't see God as a Father, let alone see Jesus as our passionate Bridegroom who pursues us with a fiery love and affectionate desire. We see God as either mad or sad, detached, even cold and calculated at times. Seldom do we see Him glad, happy and full of joy when He relates to us as humans who struggle with sin. I remember Mike Bickle would always preach, "Your identity is not that you are a sinner who struggles to love God, no, you are a lover of God who sometimes struggles with sin!" We are not the sum total of our most recent struggle with God, we are not our sin, when we are born again, the glory of God fills the very core of our being (Jn 17:22-23). We realize, we are inherently good, not evil, for we have been created in the image of a perfectly infinite and loving God. Because of Christ love, Christ forgiveness, Christ blood, I no longer see myself as bad, nothing, hopeless, unchangeable, not good enough, a failure who will always fail, rather I see myself as good, infinitely good because the Christ in me is good, He is glory, and through Him He make me able, I don't need to change myself, that is His work, He changes me for me, I simply have to put my faith in His work on the Cross, apply His blood and let Him change me inside out, while I simply rest in His loving arms, gaze at the beauty of His eyes and lose myself in the loving arms of the Father. I don't have to change myself, by faith, as I gaze at His glory, He transforms from glory to glory (2 Cor 3:14)
A Change for the BetterSometimes, I feel burdened, deeply burdened because I've been fanning the flame of revival all over Asia and North America to thousands of students. Whether it be in Hong Kong, Taiwan or the US, many, after the last few years have told me they burnt out and lost their intimacy with Jesus. A lot of this, I feel responsible for, but I realize God is giving me grace to right my wrongs, or repent from plain ignorance. I've challenged thousands to pray, fast, preach in the power of the Holy Spirit, seek God for revival, and great fruit has been born, lives have been changes, multitudes have been touched, churches have been planted, but the question is what is left behind? There has been much good, at the same time, I see so many young people, young leaders who have told me they are disillusioned and have lost their heart, many times feeling like failures because they had not seen the promise of revival through their prayers, preaching and sacrifice.
I know this feeling of failure, it comes from obeying God because I have to, I'm supposed to, if I don't obey who will mentality? Or if I don't, what will God do to me, will I miss His will, will I fail Him and others, will I be punished for not doing or obeying? What if the Father told you, you could never fail Him, because in His grace there is no failure, only love, forgiveness and understanding. The truth is, when we obey God out of fear or duty it is not the best way to obey God, the best way, the good way, is to obey out of love, out of an overflow of affection that flows from the heart of the Father, into our hearts, and our affection flowing back to Him and then to others.
It was interesting, but at the Nyack College Revival, I didn't necessarily preach on revival, maybe a different kind of revival. A revival of the heart. That is, revival begins in a love relationship with a unconditional magnificent unbelievable love of a heavenly Father who loves us not for what we can do for Him, but He simply loves us because we are His children. Nothing will change the fact, the everlasting truth that we are God's son, we are God's daughter. No matter how many times we fail or succeed we will always be a fantastic son and daughter of God in His loving eyes. When we realize this, we love Him simply because of Him, because He is good, because He accepts us and does not reject us, because He has done all the work of revival for us, we simply have to rest in His arms and let Him carry us through this fascinating journey called life, we learn to walk with Father, Son and Holy Spirit in relationship day by day.
During the Nyack revival meeting, I changed all my messages from revival, reformation and revolution to reach the lost, to revival, reformation and revolution in our hearts. I preached on the Father Heart of God and the Bridal Paradigm. I prayed every session that the Holy Spirit would reveal to us the great love of the Father & the affectionate passions of the Bridegroom Jesus. For when we understand we are loved, truly loved, how can we not share this love? How can we not run out into the streets screaming out this love at the top of our lungs? How can we not climb the rooftops of humanity and shout out this freedom, this love that the whole world is searching for?
Everyone wants to be loved for who they are, not what they do. We can only true know this through experiencing the heart of Abba Father. Everlasting love flows from this place, the place of the Father's heart.
There are three kinds of obedience.
3 Kinds of Obedience1. Fear Based Obedience – We obey because we are fearful of negative consequences
2. Duty Based Obedience – obedience that we do without feeling the presence of God or inspiration. We obey God's Word because it is right, we don't want to, but we do it anyway.
3. Affection based obedience - comes from experiencing His affection for us. It takes God to love God. When I feel loved and I feel love back obedience is not a burden.
I want to live out of this place of "affection based obedience" all three are Biblical, all three are necessary, but one is the greatest and highest form of obedience, that is obedience that is birthed and flows from a heart of affection towards a loving Father and passionate Bridegroom. In order to obey more, we must know God more, we must experience His affections towards us, or obedience will only become an obligation, a burden and something we have to do.
The American Church says, "Work harder, Sin Less, Give more"
God says, "Work Less, Enjoy God More"... for lovers always outwork workers
It was interesting, after the revival meeting, many students came up to me and just shared with me how the messages of God's love not only changed, but "transformed" their lives, their paradigms of Christianity, their understanding of who God is and who they are in Christ. I was taken aback once again, realizing, wow, now this is revival, this is revival that comes from the heart and there is something so free and hopeful about it. It's not striving for revival, it's living from revival. It's the message the world has been looking for, begging for, searching and seeking after, that someone REALLY DOES LOVE THEM, that we are loved beyond measure, beyond incomprehensible understanding. Wow, there was so much love in every meeting, in every conversation, something was different in the air, something good, very good I knew was happening and recognized it in my heart in the smiles of each of His children I spoke with :)
"Emma Confirmation" It was funny, after I shared the dream with the congregation (joint service) on Sunday morning. Steve Chua, one of my mentors from Singing Waters walked up to me and said, "Jaeson this morning the Lord gave me a dream of you, you were in a bright white room and there were many children all around you, they were all 8-9 years old and the room was full of light and life, then I heard you share this dream about Emma this morning, I believe the Father is confirming to you that you are not to disregard the children, for a great revival will be birthed out of young children and He is calling you to not neglect them, but father them, just as He would, these will be the future leaders of the great end time battle. I believe the Lord will literally give you orphans and children to take care, a small band in whom you will disciple, look for this, for He will do it."
God has been speaking this message of Father to me, more and more. I'm not sure what to do with it, but I realize this end time generation is like "Emma" she maybe insignificant in the eyes of the world now, but the Father is with her, He will not leave her nor forsake her, He will not leave her alone, for we are not a orphan generation, we are not forsaken or desolate, rather we are adopted as royal sons and daughters of the Most High, we are highly favored and deeply loved, never abandoned, never rejected, always accepted and always approved, because of the love, death and resurrection of our Lord and passionate Bridegroom Jesus Christ. wow :) His burden is easy, His yoke is light, we don't have to do anything because Jesus has already done everything, we simply hold His hand and follow Him where ever He leads us cause it's about relationship, more than a mission, it's about a relationship with our loving Father, with our lover and His name is Jesus. Come Holy Spirit come!
Another friend who heard the dream later also added that she felt the little girl in the dream had her named spelled “EM” on her name tag for a reason. Her name was “EM” but my last name was “MA” putting the two together you get “EMMA” which completes her name. She felt that God was speaking to me that having my surname attached to her first name signified my calling to take responsibility to father, take care of, and love this child.
Also, I came across this song by Jason Upton, remembering he wrote a song called "Emma" while at the Nyack gathering, another confirmation as I listened to the words of this song. I pray that you, I and this world would know that FATHER LOVES YOU, JESUS IS PASSIONATELY PURSUING YOU, SINGING OVER YOU (ZEPH 3:17) REJOICING OVER YOU, YES, EVEN IN YOUR WEAKNESS, IN YOUR FAILURE, IN YOUR SIN, YOU ARE STILL LOVED AND ENJOYED BY FATHER GOD. Love to love Him, live to know Him, know that "LOVE LOVES YOU!" He loved you first, always had and always will, His love for you will never change, forever and ever. amen.
Emma - Jason Upton
Don’t be afraid baby don’t you cry
Daddy’s here it will be all right
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Don’t be afraid when you’re cold at night
I will keep you warm I will hold you tight
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Look beyond the window there
To the sky above to the open air
Look beyond what you can see
Close your eyes and just believe
The lion roars and the lamb lays down
They live together in a whole new town
They’re calling me and they’re calling you
From the cold hard facts that we’re on our own
To the age old truth that we’re not alone
Don’t be afraid when you scrape your knee
I’ve got a band aide waiting and a kiss for free
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Don’t be afraid of your blind belief
Because the more you fly the more you’ll see
You’re not alone you’re not alone
Look beyond the window there
To the sky above to the open air
Look beyond what you can see
Close your eyes and just believe
The lion roars and the lamb lays down
They live together in a whole new town
They’re calling me and they’re calling you
From the cold hard facts that we’re on our own
To the age old truth that we’re not alone
Don’t be afraid little warrior bride
Your victory’s on the other side
You’re not alone you’re not aloneThe “Emma” confirmations continue at IHOP….After receiving this dream, the interpretation of the dream and sharing this recent revelation with others the Holy Spirit continues to confirm the significance and magnitude of this dream to me in some extremely dramatic ways.
This past week I was at the International House of Prayer in Kansas City for a staff retreat for Campus Church Networks. Our team also went to IHOP KC intentionally to build deeper relationship with key leaders at IHOP, All Nations and 24-7 Prayer whom we will be working together with for our future “Antioch Forerunner Foundation” training program. AFF is an equipping program we developed in partnership with IHOP to equip the thousands of Asian students who have answered the call to bring the Gospel back to Jerusalem. Originally, we had planned on launching this training in summer 2007, but after a time of prayer during the Chinese Leadership Consultation in April at IHOP we sensed it was pre-mature to launch this training. Now I know why. It was because Holy Spirit didn’t want us to build this student missionary movement on a foundation of only vision/strategy, but on covenant love and true relationship. Holy Spirit needed to make sure that I understood the message and mandate of the “Emma” dreams.
Daniel Lim’s baby girl called “Emma-nuel” Tuesday night, Daniel Lim the international director of FSM and the leader whom our team is working closely together with for the AFF training program invited me to his home for fellowship. We met the evening before he was to leave on an airplane the next day to preach in South Korea for a major conference. I knew I only had a short time with Daniel so I asked the Holy Spirit what I should share with Daniel Lim. He told me, “Share about the Emma dream.” When I got to Daniel’s home, we sat down in his living room and I shared with him the “Emma” dream and interpretation. After I shared, he looked at me and shared with me his thoughts.
He said it was very interesting that I shared with him this dream about Emma because his wife Levi has been pregnant 6 months with a baby girl whom they have already named “Emmanuel” but because Emmanuel in English is a masculine name, they have put a hyphen in her name “Emmanuel” spelling it “Emma-nuel.” He shared with me that he had no idea that I had received this dream about Emma before naming his child. In fact, Levi (his wife) had received a dream two years before that they were to have a second child and the baby’s destiny would be intricately connected with “Hudson Taylor” the first missionary to China. They later received another dream in which the Lord spoke that they were to name the child Emmanuel after Isaiah 7:14. From the womb, they had dedicated “Emma-nuel” to be greatly used in China and for God’s end time mission purposes in bringing the Gospel back to Jerusalem. Daniel also told me, he has been praying daily for Emma and the Holy Spirit has led him to pray for Emma to be an “Apostle of Love” that her life message and mandate would be a message love to the great nation of China.
When Daniel shared these things with me I was completely in shock and astonished. In my spirit and estimation it was a direct confirmation that “Emma” indeed symbolized the end time Asian Student Back to Jerusalem movement. This “Emma” is a special generation of love sick worshippers and radical warriors who would be dedicated to reaching China in order to reach the last un-reached people groups along the silk-road to finish the Great Commission. Also, this “Emma” would embody the message of “love” and be apostolically sent to China in the end days as a messenger of love. One who knows the love of her Father and the love of Jesus Christ as Bridegroom, King and Judge. As we ended the evening we prayed together with Levi and for the little Emma-nuel that was in her womb. Levi also shared with me that she had received dreams that the baby would be a “big baby” this is significant to what the Holy Spirit confirmed next with my encounter with Mike Bickle. Below is the actual newsletter Daniel and Levi released in June 2007 announcing to their supporters the coming of their second child…
“Additional Baby: As some of you may have heard, Levi and I are expecting our second child. We are most grateful to Jesus for this gift from the Father. Since late February Levi had experienced unusual discomfort and sickness due to her pregnancy. Thus our Family Mission Communication and IT department need to go on temporary shut down as our chief technologist and website communicator is almost non-functional until 2 weeks ago. Levi was unwell until about 2 weeks ago. Praise be to God. She has now regain strength and began move around and attend prayer meeting at IHOP Missions Base. Samuel was also very excited about the coming baby. As for now, we call the baby, Emma-nuel. We dedicated the child unto the Lord and asked God to use this greatly particular in China. May the Lord strengthen and visit this child from her baby's womb. From the dreams that Levi received, we believe this baby will be a big baby. Levi and I are trusting God for natural birth although Levi had to be operated the when she delivered Samuel. Baby is coming in October/ November 2007. The due date baby has been revised to three weeks earlier than original due to the size and the developmental stage of the baby.” – Daniel & Levi Lim June 2007 Newsletter
Mike Bickle – “An Angel Called Emma” After my surprise encounter with at the Lim’s home I knew in my spirit I had to talk to Mike Bickle and share with him the dream and corresponding confirmations. I emailed him and he agreed to meet on Friday afternoon. We got caught up and I shared with him why we decided to postpone the AFF training program, what God has been doing in my heart and of course the Emma dream. As I was sharing with him about the Emma dream he interrupted me and said, “You did say her name was Emma right?” I nodded. While he was still speaking one of his staff who joined us in the conversation said, “You know I believe that the feminine form of “Abba” or Father God in Hebrew is “Eema” which means Mother. I was surprised to hear that and knew again there was greater significance and meaning to this name “Emma.” After I shared the dream and the confirmations with Mike Bickle he responded by saying it was very interesting that I shared this dream, in particular with the confirmation of Levi receiving dreams that baby Emma would be a “big baby.” He told me that early on (1980’s) in the prophetic history of Kansas City there was a famous angelic encounter that was popular in the movement. Mike shared that one night the prophet Bob Jones and himself had a divine encounter with an angel who introduced herself as the angel named “Emma.” What was interesting was that Bob Jones described the angel as “big and sort of chubby” and the crowds at the Vineyard conferences used to laugh when they shared about the angel named Emma. It was interesting that Levi was also receiving dreams that baby Emma would be a “big baby.”
I don’t know the exact details as what Mike shared with me was a general synopsis of what happened. Basically, he shared that the angel brought a message that a great revival of divine healing and the in break of the kingdom of God in signs, wonders and miracles would come to Kansas City and impact the nations. Mike told me that this angelic encounter was no longer talked about for more than a decade because of the controversy that was going around the Kansas City prophetic movement in the early 90’s. It was not talked about much and he was reminded of it when I shared with him the dream about Emma. Yet, that angelic encounter with Bob Jones and Mike Bickle is supposedly a critical event in the beginnings of the Kansas City prayer movement.
What was also important to note was that Mike told me how the first time Bob Jones prophesied over him in 1984 he gave Mike a specific word that the prayer movement would go worldwide and it’s most significant impact would be in China. Not only this, but Bob told Mike that he saw Mike preaching in real time on a wristwatch and a technological device the size of the palm of ones hand. Mike didn’t know what to think about that in those days, but now is beginning to see the fruition of it as the greatest number of visitors to IHOP KC mission base in the last few years has been predominantly Chinese and Korean.
Praying Forward…
After this prophetic whirlwind of encounters with Daniel Lim, Mike Bickle at IHOP I really sensed in my heart a few things to pray into.
1. Pray for the vision of Asian One Thing Gatherings in North America and Asia: While speaking with Mike, Dwayne the director of One Thing ministries came up to me and Mike and shared how God has put it on his heart to hold a international One Thing in Taiwan and Hong Kong in 2008. He noted that they would be able to broadcast Mike Bickle preaching from IHOP KC in real time to the audience in Asia. Mike also encouraged Dwayne towards the vision of holding 8-10 regional Asian One Thing gatherings in North America to fuel and steward this vision of the Asian student back to Jerusalem movement. I believe, through these Asian One Thing gatherings it will give us a specific focus to follow the Emma dreams in order to intentionally share the message of the “Father heart of God” and “Jesus as Bridegroom, King and Judge” towards the vision of reaching China and bringing the Gospel from there back to Jerusalem.
2. Pray God reveals clearly how we are to father this growing student B2J movement: Through the Emma dream and the confirmations that followed, it was clear to me that Emma represented a generation of Asian young people who would be called to reach China and bring the Gospel back to Jerusalem. It was also clear that God was giving me a real responsibility of stewarding and in a sense fathering this emerging movement. Honestly, I’m a bit intimidated at the weight of this calling, but I know whom God calls He also equips. I’m asking God for wisdom for next steps on how I should respond to these dreams, confirmations and what it means practically for me in real life. As in what changes I may have to make in order to better steward this student missions movement.
3. Moving forward w/ Antioch Forerunner Foundation: I don’t believe it was by accident that the evening before my encounter with Daniel Lim and Mike Bickle that we had dinner together at Tim Miller’s home with Rodney Henderson and Rich Stevenson. Both Rodney and Rich are familiar with the Singing Waters ministry and it’s focus on the “Father’s Heart” and “Core Identity” messages that radically transformed me a year ago. It was also not by accident that it was at Nyack College that I shared the Emma dream first and both Donna Parachin and Steve Chua the directors of Singing Waters were there to hear the dream and affirm it’s message. They both asked me about holding a 2 week intensive for our student missionaries equipping them in the Father’s love and Core Identity (who they are in Christ). I’m really open and praying into the idea of partnering with Singing Waters for the AFF program to hold 2 weeks of Singing Waters teaching/ministry that would be integrated with IHOP and CCN training. We are still praying into if we are to move forward with AFF in summer 2008. Pray God reveals His will clearly.
4. Pray for Apostolic Power, the Supernatural To Be Birthed in This Student Movement: I know that the "Angel Called Emma" was a missing piece to the puzzle. That this end time mission army would not only go out in the Father's Love, but in the miracle working power of the Holy Spirit to perform signs, wonders, miracles and divine healing in the name of Jesus. That night, after I had met with Mike earlier in the day, Bob Sorge at the EGS service gave a peculiar message on the "Stronghold of Zion" and basically rebuked the IHOP community for not contending for the promise to see divine healing and deliverance become a reality of the mission base and God's church in this age. This end time move of God will be a move that will have even more power than the Apostolic NT Church at Pentecost cause God goes from glory to glory, we are contending for the power of God to encounter a generation and empower a generation.
I wrote the email below to our students at Passion Church UCLA last week, I pray the stories below challenge you to go and love the lost with grace and compassion.....with love, this is a challenge not an exhortation.
Matthew 9:9-13
9 As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, "Follow Me." So he arose and followed Him. 10 Now it happened, as Jesus sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples. 11 And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to His disciples, "Why does your Teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" 12 When Jesus heard that, He said to them, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13 But go and learn what this means: "I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance."Dear PC,
I was also deeply humbled this past week. Last night, I was in a prayer meeting for my home church (HRC) that was at my house in Pasadena. During this prayer meeting, there were was a large group of us believers who have been Christian for years. But in walks this young man who came off the streets. He was a newer believer, didn't dress the same, look the same or talk the same. In fact, in the prayer meeting he was quite the distraction. We could all tell that he had demonic oppression and because he had brought some distraction to the prayer meeting the week before, the leadership asked him not to come again. But he came back again, because his heart was truly after God.
It got pretty bad, but some leaders were trying to explain to him why they needed him to calm down, submit, because he was manifesting and distracting others in the prayer meeting. He became very defensive, began to shout and almost got angry to the point of where it could get out of hand. What happened?
Four older Christian brothers took him outside. The USUAL way of doing things would be to look at his dysfunction and ask him to leave, to go to a "outreach cell group" but not this revival prayer meeting. Instead, I saw my brother Gabe Ahn do something that deeply challenged and moved me. He took him aside to the street and began to speak to him the truth, but in love. He counseled him for about an hour, I heard this young man yelling in anger, then crying because he just wanted to worship God and be a part of this prayer meeting, he had an orphan spirit and felt like he was rejected, that Christians didn't want him to be a part of the meeting because he wasn't rich, he didn't have nice clothes, he had been to jail, he was different, and honestly....
The reality in my mind at that moment, is that it would have been the easy way out to just say, "This guy has a unclean spirit, is being disruptive, and needs to be delivered before he can be accepted in our prayer meeting, or our community." How many times do we resort to the same manner of doing things, because its easier, convenient, we judge others by the outside but not by the intention of their heart. We may not see pass their hurt, their pain, their rejection?
To make a long story short, my brother Gabe surprisingly put his arms over his shoulders and walked up the driveway with this young man. He told him as long as he stayed quite, submitted to his leadership, he could sit with Gabe in the front of the prayer meeting and pray and worship with him. I was amazed. Moments before, I was on the sidewalk making sure this young man would not get violent and hurt Gabe, next thing I know Gabe walks up with this young man back into the prayer meeting where he was manifesting and being disruptive before, but in a totally different spirit. For the rest of the meeting, this young man submitted, sat next to Gabe in the front and prayed and worshipped with everyone else. Love overcame.
Did Jesus not leave the 99 to go after the 1 sheep? Are we willing to leave the 99 who are found and go after the one who is lost?
I wonder so many times, whether those who are not believers, those who are not the same as us would feel welcomed in our churches? Sadly, I talk to many friends who are not "Christians" and they tell me how they feel judged, disconnected and not accepted when they meet Christians. My heart breaks to think that our churches, our campus fellowships are not welcoming to those who are different, whether they believe or don't believe, this is a tragedy.
Jesus was hated by the religious and he was loved by the sinners. He lived in the radical middle. He spent most of his time with unbelievers, in fact, most of his friends were those who did not yet believe. He ate with them, lived with them, talked with them and loved them. He went to the lost, He didn't wait for them to come to Him. Do we love like Jesus? Religion says behave and then you will be accepted. Jesus says you are already accepted, believe this and you will naturally behave in a new way. Love is not passive, it is active. Love pushes us out of our comfort zones to embrace those we are not comfortable with. Love is what this world is searching for, we have it, will we go out and give it?
Daniel Lee and Paula told me after the prayer meeting on Tuesday night, they bumped into a young Asian brother on Bruin Walk. He seemed quite lonely and they tried to make friends with him. He rejected them, so they left. But they kept praying for God to open a door to his heart and show them a sign. As they walked back to the dorms the Holy Spirit spoke to them to "turn left" instead of going the usual way. They ended up bumping right back into this young man. They talked with him again, he shared that he was lonely, did not have many friends and didn't believe in God. But they made friends with him and convinced him to give them his number :) They ended up calling him up and he came with us to celebrate Rajan's b-day! That night, before we left the dinner he looked at me and said, "I don't believe in God, but thank you for letting me be a part of this I was deeply touched."
Passion Church - God has been speaking to me deeply that the Gospel is not meant for the rich, the well, the proud, but it is for the SICK, HURTING & the LOST! Please, I urge you, we will see true revival at UCLA and everywhere else when we love the least, the lost, the outcast those who are broken and poor in spirit, for they shall be filled. Revival is going to happen this year, I'm sure of it, but we must not only pray, but our prayer must move us to action or our prayers are nothing more than words that will fall to the ground.
PRAY TODAY FOR GOD TO GIVE YOU OPPORTUNITY TO LOVE WITHOUT FEAR, TO LOVE BOLDLY, TO LOVE COURAGEOUSLY, TO LOVE TILL IT HURTS, TO LOVE WHEN IT IS INCONVENIENT, TO LOVE THOSE WHO HAVE NEVER BEEN LOVED, TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS THAT JESUS LOVES YOU AND SO DO I, ....
and you know what family? It's going to be tough, it's going to be difficult to love the hurting, the dying, those who need healing. But that is the cost of revival, that is the cost of love. But that is what the Gospel is about, it's not about us, it's about His love for them. And He will anoint us and give us the grace to do what is impossible in our strength, when we yield to His power and trust Him to love through us.
LOVE SOMEBODY WHO NEEDS LOVE TODAY.
Let your light breakout and shine like the dawn. Today is the day of salvation!
For the PC BBQ on Sunday Night. I encourage all of you to bring a lost friend. Someone who needs a family in this lonely city of Los Angeles, let's began to change the loneliness to LOVE. amen.
Isaiah 61:1-3
1 "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon Me, Because the LORD has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified."
blessings,
Jaeson
